In response to Jurgita Galbraith’s kind offer to host a joint show ‘The Lightness of Being’ between myself and the wonderful Amanda Baron, Glass Artist, at the Birch Tree Gallery in July 2017 (now, in fact) I decided to revisit this series of works started in 2012. I’m not sure if the emphasis has changed – Like all my work, it’s fairly contemplative but more still than the linen pieces. our trees have grown up around the house, making the policies more like a woodland clearing than a garden. The views of the countryside disappear in summer. We often have clear skies making the phases of the moon easy to track. You can tell what season in which the work was made, always.
Amanda’s work is lovely. I’m very lucky to be showing with her.
